Never trust what you buy is what you get.
Luckily my keg blocked up due to my hop bag coming open in the keg so not much was consumed.
F me...if I’m not online next week I’ve died of ball bearing poisoning.

Ebay is terrible for this - try to use reputable suppliers!

Re: Make sure your balls are stainless.
If the seller just said 'stainless steel' and didn't specify the grade or composition, then that allows for quite a range - including lower grades than we would want for brewing. But even so, there are limits (e.g. 10.5% chrome or more); if I'm judging from the photo correctly there might be more damage than one would expect after a single use, so it could well have been a mistake (or lie) for the material to be called this at all.
By way of comparison, if it were a standard bearing then it would most likely be made of chrome steel - which in a sense is heading towards stainless steel and (being excessively charitable) could possibly be confused. But it normally has only a fraction of the chrome content (say 1.5%) than any of the so-called stainless grades should have (let alone the good ones (ditto for molybdenum)) and so no cosha retailer would call it so.

That's a bit unfair on those reputable suppliers that do use eBay!Robwalkeragain wrote: ↑Mon May 27, 2019 1:42 pmEbay is terrible for this - try to use reputable suppliers!
But with eBay, it is up to the buyer to figure out who is reputable. These will help: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/50-80mm-Clea ... UIaWg3YlhQ - guaranteed
