kh ind finished in Salifert kit

(That's water to the rest of us!) Beer is about 95% water, so if you want to discuss water treatment, filtering etc this is the place to do it!

kh ind finished in Salifert kit

Post by dshar » Sun Oct 27, 2019 8:51 pm

Hi all
Bit of a long shot this, but here goes..
I used my salifert kit twice before. I came to retest my water today to find that there were only two drops left in the “kh ind” bottle! It a fairly inexpensive kit, but it is supposed to work for 100 tests!
Anyway i can get a replacement for this liquid seperatley? I did a few searches with no luck.
Is it a ph indicator liquid? Gotta be a commonly available chemical ?
Cheers to the brew knowledge base!

Seems like you've been done. I've not kept count to know if I've managed 100 tests, but it is possible and will likely have been of that order.

It would seem their indicator is a mix of two and unfortunately I know of no other source.

Well they're not very expensive. I'd just pop along to your local aquarium supplier and get another kit.
Best wishes

And check the bottles in the box are full before leaving the shop!
