Muntons Midas Touch.......

Post by WalesAles » Mon Oct 21, 2024 8:07 pm

Hello,
Found this in shed as well.
For some reason I bought 1Kg Light Spraymalt with this kit. It doesn`t need it.
What would happen to the Brew if I used it?
Or should I just brew the kit as is?
You know how much much I like to mess about with kits.  :D

A stronger but less balanced ale? Unless you add more bittering hops? They seem to put a lot of effort (R&D) into designing beer kits these days, to nail down recipes, so probably better used as per instructions.

The yeast you get with the kit may struggle to ferment 3.6 kg of liquid malt extract and 1 kg of light DME. The packs are already on the small side, plus I'm guessing they will be old now. The fg will be high. I would replace the yeast if you're going to do this.
