Although I agree with this (it's hard to change historical fact), there are still some fine American hoppy style beers that use the IPA moniker. Brooklyn East India Pale Ale is one example.

However, there are a good few British IPA's that I've often considered great beers but far from the IPA style. For example, Deuchars IPA is a lovely beer but far removed from the style. Greene King's IPA is another.

All I was hoping for was some advice on a good IPA recipe (authentic or not) as I've never brewed this style and wondered if someone wanted to share their tried and tested recipe.
