Hi,

I realise this thread was posted a long time ago, However I'm only just getting into brewing and this is something I am planning at the moment.

I was just wondering how the project went? Did you finish it and if so what was the final setup etc?

Start saving and get a 40L buffalo boiler, plenty of room in the base for control electrics and handles a 25liter 5% brew with room to spare
Now were can i find one of those sexy looking mesh baskets?

his guy uses a stainless steel chimney pipe for the malt tube.

also interesting was that he uses the flexible low density element, and forms it around the kettle, so that the malt pipe sits on the bottom, without touching the element.

I very nearly completed mine although never got around to actually trying it, its currently converted back into an HLT which I`ve had up for sale.

But if my new large set up doesnt get built soon I worried about running out of beer so with a few changes & tweaks I should beable to get it running.

Ive gone for a pumped system through the top of the inner pot, I`ve a blichmann style FB for the inner pot as well as a perforated FB.

A few pics of my build & the original thread.... viewtopic.php?f=6&t=47323
