When I mentioned Protofloc to my Dad his reply was "What are you f****** mental?" Was enough to put me off as he's been brewing longer than I've been alive

Not really, he says that quite a lot these days (Old grumpy Cork man). But nevertheless I trust his judgement. I'll ply him with some liquor and see if I can get a better answer for you
