Bottled n barrelled, but the final volume was 23 litres and straight out of the FV it seemed a bit thin.

I've been using a Mango drum as a FV so no volume markings.

If ye took a pint of my beer and put a quarter pint of water in it? I could well imagine That would seem a bit thin too

Apparently I going to have to rename it Coopers Stout.
After the 2 AG stouts I've done it was going to be thin, my latest will be ready for Christmas its an Oatmeal Stout with a ABV of about 7.5%.
That oats have it that smooth that if you let it get into your mouth it drinks its self!

I did a Ditch's stout some point last year and chucked it into a corny keg and left it, the CO2 canister ended up emptying so I had no way to get it poured so I left it while I was waiting for my Dad to sort me out with another canister...............finally got one a couple of weeks ago. This is vintage and lovely, must be at least 7 months old and won't last long.

Okay; 'Mayday! Mayday .....'
Could anyone here ~ who knows how to stick to some basic instructions, and has their basic regimens together ~ please just check their next " Ditch's " for us?
We need to pin down the 'Gravities' of this stuff. I don't use a float. I've always just made my shit. It generally tastes great, to me .....
Now, we really need to pin down the % of it. Something I'm simply not capable of doing. Volunteers; Please step forward .....

2.6%!!!!!
Although my first attempt came out as 5.1%.
The 1026 OG is definitely some sort of anomaly, i checked with 2 different hydrometers. There's no way its 2.6% now that I'm drinking the finished job.
I'd put this down as a one off freak occurrence, but now a euro lager has read the same!

1 can to 20Lts and 2 mugs Brown sugar 5.7%
2 cans to 20Lts 6.6%

Good man, Wales! So, there it is then; Practically no matter how ye might tweak what I suggest here, No Way are ye going to end up with something barely over 2% !
And, being as he managed it with a Coopers Lager too? DBF is obviously doing something anomalous that we're not a party to. But, it's not my recipe and it's not Coopers kits.

Last batch I made in December I ended up putting in 2 10 litre barrels. One was drunk on xmas day and the other I started yesterday. It's kept really well and tastes excellent. Can't see it lasting long now its started.
Cheers to Ditch.
