Stainless Conical Budget of £500 to £800 Best One

well gents - As a few of you are aware

I have taken receipt of the first few samples of conicals and am having the V2's made as I type....

whilst I was happy with the quality the dimensions weren't doing a lot for me. It seemed like you needed 4 hands to be able to use them. That said I plan to keep at least one for my personal use

So I went back to the drawing broad for a bit of a redesign.. Hopefully a few months from now we should have a decent product for you guys.

What size are they out of interest?

having 35l, 55l and 75l V2's made now (fingers crossed)

Being honest, 35 & 75 are about right, 55 is just a touch too large for small batches and too small for bigger batches. I'd be hard pressed with the amount of krausen I get!

Out of interest Rich, when you wrapped your conical with the wire/pipes & insulation did you do the cone aswell or just the body? Gonna make a start on mine this week and am just trying to work out if i need to buy a bit more insulation for the cone.

MrLard (homebrewbuilder) sells some. Come with all the fancy triclover bits in 3 different sizes I think.

Other than that, not really.

I think my best advice now would be to only buy a conical if you intend to make the FULL use out of one, if your only going to ferment beers in there / don't want to play around with yeasties & on a budget just go for a standard stock pot.

Morebeer / Blichmann / Stout or Mr Lards conicals are your best bets - depending on size and budget.
