Now for Haz66's 'Flowery Tw@s'.

A good malt flavour with lovely rounded bitterness with the Fuggles nicely in the finish.

I'd have to say this is my favourite so far, and a good reason for me to get some Northdown hops in a brew :)

Nice work :)

pdtnc - Blacksheep ale with Burton Yeast.

Nice lovely dark colour and well carbonated, the malt taste is quite complex and nice, and then
you are hit by Styrian at first and then a nice lovely spicey finish, almost peppery, and then a slight hint
of dark malt, this is a fantastic beer,
cant wait to try the one with US-05

Well done indeed

pdtnc - Blacksheep ale with US-05 (Couldn`t resist)

Again very similar to the above, but this one is a lot smoother in the mouth, the other was bloody good,
this one is bloody fantastic, not as spicey at the finish, its almost got an orangey finish.
Wow, same beer different yeasts and 2 totally different beers.

Top effort for both of them =D> =D> =D>
They both out do commercial breweries by a long shot.

Hazz66; Conniston Bluebird Bitter.

Having grabbed a few bottles whilst op north I thought I'd be in a good position to review Marks very own version which he passed me.

Immediately on opening the bottle I'm met with a nice fizz and a crystal clear pint with good carbonation/head.

First smell gives off the fragrance of the Challenger/Northdown hops??

First taste of citrus, then rounded sweetness/hops which flows over the tounge, then malt, nice bitterness and the want for more all in all everything I want in a good pint

Does it compare to the original; in my opinion it surpasses

Another great beer mate, well done

Rick

Reveiw of Haz66's Flowery Tw@s

Another well carbonated, bright beer with good malt and balanced bitterness. Nicely hopped and pretty similar to Story Teller (Conniston BBB Clone) to my taste buds at least.

A great brew mate, well done!

Reveiw of Haz66's Blonde Bombshell.

Cascade and more cascade; a great light summer ale with zesty notes, nice body pleasant after tones; good carb and nicely clear.

Yet another notch on the brewing shed there mate, well done

Might give this a whirl with NZ Cascade & US05

Jabba/Jamie's Coconut Porter

Jamie was kind enough to send me a bottle of this, I have to say, very well brewed beer. He was complaining about the head retention but I found no problem, a nice tan coloured head developed while pouring from the fridge and stuck around for about 3 minutes before subsiding to a thin layer of foam which left a lace down the glass. Not that head retention is a big deal. I couldn't care less about head retention on my beer these days.

Like I say this was a well brewed porter. There were no off flavours. It had a fruity aroma with a little chocolate which carried through to the flavour. It tasted pretty dry from the fridge so I let it warm up which released more of the fruity notes. I was searching and searching and searching for coconut but I have to say in all honesty, I didn't find it. At least, if someone handed it to me and didn't say anything about coconuts, I wouldn't have guessed. Mouthfeel, balance, bitterness etc was all how it should be. No overt hop flavour getting in the way of the malty goodness, but just enough to let you know theres some in there.

Overall it was an excellent beer. I would have liked a big wallop of coconut but it didn't detract from the quality and attention that has been paid to the brew.

I'll stick a choco beer in the post when it's ready :D

I know I shouldn't be drinking it... but, I reckon when the bottle marked 'Úber Bluebird' gets a taste in a couple of weeks it will go down well :)

Thanks for the reviews so far too, I'm not quite as eloquent in my descriptions mind!!

Review of Rick Huggins - Belgian White

Very well carbonated, nice fruity aroma
Dark copper/red ish colour
The taste is very good (My taste buds aren`t brilliant but) i got a taste of rhubarb at the start
then a dark malty taste in the middle and the finish was again of a rhubarb flavour.

I really enjoyed this drink as i dont brew dark beers but this one was enjoyed all the way to the bottom of the glass.
Top effort yet again =D>

Very kind of you Mysterio

I'm defiantly going to get this one on the go again and double up on the creamed coconut and maybe add some dessicated in as well. Certainly nobody who's tried it could pick out the coconut with out knowing #-o :!:

Cheers,
Jamie

Is there such a thing as coconut essence/extract ?

I would be worried about adding too many fats to the beer.

Thanks Mark, glad you enjoyed.. Must try harder with the "Wit" bit next time tho LOL

I think I'll just used wheat instead of wheat malt..

Cheers
