Hi guys, I sent a pm to the guy who sourced the german site on the other brewing site to just ask a few questions.
Its seems the main thing will be distance, and actually delivering/picking them up.
Also like mentioned, they run a pretty tight group over there, and money was handled by some forum vets, so again that would all depend on how trusting people here would be! Another thing, if anyone can speak german it would benefit as google translate isn't always best.
The last thing he mentioned was the minimum of 200 kegs was due to their shipping, but seeing the interest here can't see it being a problem. However they did use a contact to ship them freight who could double up palets to 40 per pallette.

As for numbers, I'd be after maybe 15-20, as I'd also order some for people who aren't forum members who homebrew near me. (Admittidley 10 is for me anyway!)

I'd steer clear of using PayPal with their charges!

Put me down for 8 please. I'm in dundee, but can pick up from aberdeen central belt if we arranged a delivee to there.
I've added to the list.
Could I suggest opening a paypall account. We could all pay into that then the person paying at the end pays.

10 for me please
PayPal
Check
Cash
All good

In Doncaster so kinda central, no car at the moment so would help alot if someone could drop of, fair cost's of course. :)
But would organise collection if needed, and in that case I'd be happy to drop some of for others one the way back.
Drink till she's cute, but stop before the wedding

I speak German, I was involved in the Irish deal in so far as I did the order for them, it would be trivial for me to recycle the same material to do an order again, I have already spoken to Frau Hartig today and will be speaking to her again in the next hour to sort out the lid issue for the lads.

As said, I can help with communication if you want.

Thats one issue sorted.

So it looks like we should carry on with a list of potential kegs to order. Then once thats up to a set amount, work out where everyone is located, and work out the best place to deliver to. Then go from there.

If people quote the list or just re-post it with them included and we try to keep it updated, we can keep track of the total easily.

Thanks for updating. THBF are up to a total of 115, and on here we now have 194.

Should we do a joint order or just a Jims order.

It looks like on Jims alone we will have enough to go for it, and then let THBF sort themselves out, even though I am on both.

What I'd suggest, setup a club account with multiple signatories. Maybe make a kernel of guys who are geographically near and can literally drag someone by the scruff of the neck if they are out of line or messing about. If there is already a club who are meeting and trust each other, that's where I'd base the money operation, otherwise the risk is great on whoever takes it on.
The rest is just logistics which can be worked out with couriers being arranged from a central point to distribution centres around the country. I'd also suggest that someone lines up a courier they know and gets a price off of them for the run from Germany.

Probably better to add names on here to stop the thread getting too messy.

Experience from the Irish thread, allow people to add their names, but when it comes to payment then don't allow open editing of the document, make sure the payment is made with a note of the forum name versus real name on the payment slip so that whoever is handling the finances can edit the list to add paid to it, not willy nilly as things are paid. the payment in that case will only be confirmed by receipt in the bank account, not hearsay.

I think it would be easier to keep it on jims. Saves any inter forum confusion!

I'd suggest in this time of tight economics, to use someone who's known to someone here, keep the money local and don't give it to some large company.
