Ditch, this 3 gallon brew you have mentioned. Is it simply your usual brew but only made to 3 gallon? Same amounts of DME etc?

I believe so yes . I was considering doing but with a kilo of dark DME and 500g of light with 500g of brown sugar brewed to 12 litre to boost the abv even more

Hong; Yes, mate. Exactly that. I 'invented it' by mistakenly drinking from an un topped up FV. My drill produces such an initial 'head' that I tend to leave the FV's alone for 24 hours. Then top off to the required 20 Litre mark.

One time I forgot to top up and got amongst this stuff that tasted curiously off the scale and turned me into a cabbage within two or three pints! I was a burbling idiot!

Of course, no change there then; But it tasted good Image

Forget to say ditch, and yes I know you don't use um but my hydrometer readings suggested this brew came out at 4.8% before priming so Christ knowes what a 3 gallon brew comes out at

Ditch, cheers for the swift reply. Wow that sounds unreal! Might just have to give it a blast, must of been quite strong eh? Did it taste ok? Not too bitter, out of balance etc.?

No. Not at all. And I had a mate here to taste it too. Both of us sublimely ignorant to what I'd done. He said; " This is probably the best ye've ever made! ".

It's sort of like a grown ups version of the original. All the tones are more pronounced. But, yeah, they maintain that same balance. It's like drinking the stuff with a heightened sense of awareness. Yes; It actually is a bit trippy!

Cannabis brew like my wife ditch ? As she's a smaller frame being a lady this could explain why a 5 galleon brew triped her out and you need the stronger 3 gallon one

Great answer! Right enough said, i`m going for it. Just one last question Ditch, if i used light malt extract instead of dark do you think it would make much difference to the taste? Just i have a local Wilkinsons selling LME quite cheap.

Excellent point actually, Sbonders. I'd rather dismissed ye ladies claim as a one off. I'd never thought of my stuff that way ~ or so I'd thought, look!

Christ! Keep her away from the 'Good' stuff then or god knows ......
