100% Munich malt bill to give an OG ~1.070.
35 IBUs East Kent Goldings hops.
Safale T-58 yeast.
I'm interested to hear people's general opinion on how this beer would turn out. I like to keep my recipes as simple as possible, but is this oversimplifying things?
I just picked 35 IBUs for the hops out of nowhere. Does this sound like a reasonable number to balance the Munich malt and 1.070 OG?
Also, I've never used T-58 before. I'd like to stick to a dry yeast as making up a starter is too much hassle for me. I'm looking for something to add a little spice and attenuate well. With all that munich malt I want a low final gravity to prevent a cloying sweetness. Does peoples' experience of T-58 match this? Would a T-58 / Nottingham mix be better?
Hoping to break my 6 month dry spell and get a brewday in this weekend. It will either be this recipe of something else, so be looking forward to an upcoming piccie filled brewday post
