Post by beesley121 » Sun Jun 01, 2008 4:27 pm

Hi guys,

i really like the Badgers champion beer. I sit poosible I could use fresh elderflowers (loads in my next door neighbours garden) along with a beer making kit to get something along thee lines of this famous beer??

if anyone has done this, could they please post their recipes thanx

To add to a kit you could probably steep some elder flower in a small amount of the wort as you would with hops for maybe 5 minutes. I would use a nice light kit like burton bridge summer ale.

Hi
I did a Coopers ausie pale ale kit a while back and added 25g of dried elderflowers and 20g of cascade for 10 mins boiling whilst i disolved the medium spray malt. The idea was to achieve a similar taste to the badger beer. The result is that it is a wee bit over done on the elderflower flavour but still very drinkable after a good chill in the fridge. cut back on the elderfower and maybe add some first gold hops as well and it should see you right.
