Woodfordes Great Eastern

Just got this kit on the go tonight. In addition to following the instructions I also steeped about an ounce of Fuggles hops in hot water in one of the cans for about 10-15 minutes and strained this into the FV. All was going swimmingly until I dipped the steralised trial jar thingy in to take a hydro reading (which was 1040). I then realised I'd put it down on top of the non-sterile top of the tumble dryer (in the garage) before using it. Eek, hope I get away with it, as I've heard good things about this it. Fingers crossed.

Cheers Daab, I will.
Checked this after about 20 hours and it was the most vigorous fermentation I've ever had, nearly came out the FV. Hope its a good sign, and it gets down to about 1010. Smells good too, and is much lighter than any other ale I've done, including Fixby Gold.

yeah, I think they do say 1014 or 1015, I thought this was just to cover their backs in case of stuck fermentation though. That only makes 3.5%. Still be a nice session beer though.

Do you still do kits Daab? I thought you were All Grain all the way?
