Fermentation temperature profile

I'd like to experiment with different temperature profiles to see what different flavours show up .I assume I need to stick within the 18-24 range for ales but
what temps should I use and what results am I likely to experience?

A very simple rule of thumb is cooler for a cleaner taste, warmer for a more fruity taste.

US05 and Nottingham, I've had clean results at 15c.
16/18c is my preferred range, and never over 20c if possible.
S04 is excessively fruity at 24c (from experience) and you risk getting Fusel alcohols any higher than that.

I agree with the above and I've been experimenting with lager yeast for my ales as well, using S-23 at around 14-15 degrees C for a slightly cleaner finish. Not saying its better, still evealuating the different processes.
