Castlemaine xxxx Gold

I've just tried my castlemaine gold that I bottled on the 6th October and it tastes very bitter and doesn't smell too great either to be honest. I tried using finings with this for the first time but wouldn't think that would be the problem.

Is it worth leaving for a while and see how it gets on or have I ruined this?

I made this as my first batch. I made it with table sugar and basic ingredients. It is ok but much darker like a Vienna lager and doesn't have that much flavour. It is drinkable but not as good as the coopers pilsnaer. That said I made the pilsner with malt etc.

I probably wouldn't make it again.

I'd leave it until at least mid November. The longer you leave a lager the better.
