On the box is said to leave it in the fermenting bin for 4-6 days or untill it stops bubbling. What happens if i leave it 7 days or 10 days ,what can happen to it?.Thanks once again

you can get off flavours if it sits on the yeast for too long (the yeast is dying and all that). i once left a wherry for ten days and had no problem. it depends if the temperature is constant and its not been moved or nudged.

I left both of mine for ten days. No ill effects from the first one which went in the King Keg. It has cleared nicely. The abv coming out at approx 4.3% - a little under the volume advertised but a nice brew nonetheless. It is a tasty pint which is getting it's first public appreciation tomorrow.

The second has been bottled but has only been in secondary for about a week so I can't really comment yet. It looked and tasted okay coming out of the FV.

Most importantly check your hydrometer reading http://www.18000feet.com/how/hydroreading.htm

If you get it down to 1.014 it's probably done - a few people have problems with the Wherry stopping around 1.020 - viewtopic.php?f=4&t=14480

they will tell you as long as possible!!

BUT I know how it feels when you are waiting for your first brew. I started mine after about 3 - 4weeks. It had cleared properly after 4 - 5.

Its impossible to leave it , unless you have a 2nd, or 3rd barrel. Check the signitures. These guys (and gals) have loads of brews conditioning!!

All replies gratefully recieved

Yeah, just leave it in the keg for around a week for it carbonate then transfer it somewhere cool/cold to condition for another 3-4 weeks.

Your at the hard part now

Coopers Stout Vs sharp, fizzy yellow stuff? Prepare yeselves to experience intriguing flavours that ye'll find yeselves discussing and trying to pin down! Discover the difference between 'Mouth Feel' and 'Throat Burn'!

You Will Not be disappointed! Assure the good lady that 'DS' has promised that 8)

Honestly, mate; I'm due to get paid this week. (And I mean PAID!) I'm only gutted that there just aren't enough kegs, FV's and Coopers Stout kits in all of Eire to anywhere near satisfy my own personal demand. I'm really not sure whether to bug the crap out of my supplier, or just go direct to Coopers and deal for a Wholesale shipment of my very own!

I think I'm in love!

Kev; I got paid on monday, mate. My head's been reeling ever since. Still is! It's not as if I've won the lottery, by any means. But I've certainly got a bob or two in my bank account ;)

As I write this, my signature says how I'm 'negotiating' something or other. Well, the negotiations were finalised earlier this evening. My supplier has come up trumps and done me proud. I'm due to meet him, on the 22nd, right here. I shall then become just about a 'full time' producer of my beloved Coopers Stout!

The other part of my siggie is about buying shares in Coopers, isn't it? Well, the boat's about to sail for that one. Because, any moment now, eyes are going to widen, in Australia, and some Sales Accountant is going to be uttering; " Stroof! WTF's going on in Eire?!? "

Anyway, once I've had a moment to settle, this'll be worthy of a Post of its own. I'll do that presently, and give ye all some details! 8)
