Wilkos beer enhancer for stout ?
Wilkos beer enhancer for stout ?
I Am about to brew a coopers stout which i will purchase from our local Wilkos store.when i was last in there getting my woodfordes wherry i noticed they sell a bag of beer enhancer but did not see any spray dried malt. Would this enhancer be ok to use ? Because the nearest home brew shop is a fair old trek to buy the Dme.
Re: Wilkos beer enhancer for stout ?
True, but not a very good mix. Each time I've bought it you can see around 2/3 light brown powder at one end of the bag and 1/3 white powder poured on top. So I guess it's about 1/3 glucose.Chris-x1 wrote:(It's a mix of the two).
I brew therefore I ... I .... forget

If thats the case, surely thats not a bad mix 1/3 glucose and 2/3 dme got to be better than 50/50vacant wrote:True, but not a very good mix. I've used it with every 1.8Kg kit I've made from Wilko's (£4.99 to £11.99 old prices + £3.29 for the enhancer) and been pleased with the results. Not in the same league as 3 or 3.6KG kits I've bought elsewhere but then these cost £19 - £22.

Re: Wilkos beer enhancer for stout ?
for a coopers, coz its such a bloody good kit, pay the extra and use dark spraymalt. everytime i do a coopers its 500g spraymalt and 500g brewing sugar. its well work it!
Re: Wilkos beer enhancer for stout ?
Ive done it now,its bubbling away nicely, and used 1kg of dark spray malt instead of the beer enhancer.
