Wrong bins
Wrong bins
I Have got a Geordie bitter kit and youngs cider kit but I have put them into wine fermenting bins with no taps on the bottom, having looked at this forum I realised Ive made a mistake, is there anyway way I can bottle them from the non tap bins, many thanks David
Re: Wrong bins
Just use a syphon hose - you'll need to hold the hose in place on the bucket with a clip or get help (a spare pair of hands). Also I find an inline tap and a short extension help switch the flow on and off when moving betwwen bottles. If you need to suck to get the syphon started DAAB's (Chris's) suggestion of putting a hollowed out bic biro into the end works well, you then remove the bic once the flow starts.
Oh and if you dont have the tap, flattening a 'bend' in the pipe restricts the flow well enough.
Good Luck

Re: Wrong bins
I do exactly what Chris suggests. Your FV's aren't 'wrong', you just need a 3rd one that's 'right'
I put some pickies on the "Bottling - never again" thread yesterday.....

Brewer Bill has never proved over useful to me.... I've been to Hamstead HomeBrew (J7 M6) a couple of times....
Used Hop & Grape a couple of times.
Re: Wrong bins
Couldn't agree with you more on the above quote Prozac. Brewer Bill is useless and way too expensive in my opinion. I don't know how he has managed to stay around for so long.Prozac wrote:Brewer Bill has never proved over useful to me.... I've been to Hamstead HomeBrew (J7 M6) a couple of times....

He's not interested in it anymore as far as I can tell and Youngs can't see it.Dill wrote:Couldn't agree with you more on the above qoute Prozac.
