Muddy Waters!

Post by Pav » Tue Dec 09, 2008 5:11 pm

Have just bottled my 2 part Brewpak (can't remember the name, but it will be on my signiture).
Tasted ok, BUT... It looks like a bottle of MUDDY water!

It had 14days in 1st fermentation (although this is the brew I accidently put two x yeasts into... don't ask!).

I know brews clear but i have never bottled anything that looks as brown as this!

Can anyone see any issues? I am guessing it may take some time to clear.

If it's any consolation, Pav? I used to brew All my stuff to come out looking like Bisto! Still drunk the bloody stuff. Got me completely smashed too and no 'ill effects'.

That was 'Then', however. I wouldn't dream of touching it now. Now, as Richard G appears so right in saying; Just leave it to clear, in time.

I once found my whirlfloc tablet on the table long after the brew had gone into the FV. the beer tasted fine, it just looked "muddy"

it's an off-white coloured tablet a bit bigger than a paracetemaol, when AG brewing it is dropped into the boil about 10-15mins before switch off, it helps produce clearer beer by floccing the protiens together into bigger lumps, which then fall to the bottom of the boiler, stopped by the hops and are left there when you run off into your chiller/fv

they make a nice fizz and froth when you chuck 'em in
