Firkin nice cat :) Ours is making its own special blend of extract at the moment, the house smells lovely (not) poor thing hardly eaten for a week, been anethetised and had teeth pulled and not having to force some fluids into him while he generally leaves us smelly wet presents everywhere!

Looks like you had fun, great pictures :)

Good job Neal - I knocked up a Koelsch last night - got to bed at 2:30am!!

Dumb Question:
I notice in a lot of brewday pics that you guys use flowers or hop "flakes" - are pellet hops uncommon in the UK?

Cheers,
TL

Nice pics!

(as a polite request, they are huge file sizes, if you could resize subsequent ones then that would be great - www.irfanview.com is free and does resizing etc well)

Thanks :)
Dan!

Yes is the straight answer to your question. TBH I dont recall seeing pellet hops being sold at any of the brew shops I have looked at. My local brew shop does not stock them but on the flip side I have noticed that I could buy pellet hops from australia have them shiped to the UK and it will be about 30 pence cheeper rather than nip down to the local brew shop and buy the hops from their

Thanks for that - re the Aussie sellers, you're possibly thinking of Ross at Craftbrewer. Nice bloke, expat pom, no affiliation etc etc. Several years ago, he complained at his local brewclub meeting about the shite hops that the local sellers had and wanted to know if anyone wanted to get in on a bulk buy direct from the suppliers in Tasmania. He eventually went online with a business to supply fresh hops to other brewers interstate and he's now running a very tidy business supplying all matter of brewing gear and ingredients, globally. I see he even sells the Weyermann extract kits - there's no limit to his enterprise!!

Cheers,
TL

Yup, I bought a hop mountain off him for crimbo, excellent service, very very good hops selection and shipped to Ireland within a week. I will buy off him again, and again.
