Really seems to have slowed down in the last couple of days.(If not stopped) Is this normal? I plan on bottling it at 1 week, ie tomorrow afternoon.
As I'm a total noob, I only bought a hygrometer 3 days ago (3 days in) It read 1020 at the time. It read 1012 yesterday too. There is still a head, but it's very thin. Am I waiting for it to stabilise at or below 1006 for bottling, or can I just go ahead and bottle it at a week regardless of the SG?
Also, anyone know the rough OG I should have had with it made as per the tin instructions with 1 KG of granulated sugar?
Edited cos I found yesterdays reading, and re read todays. They're the same. And I've just tasted it. No evidence of sweetness at all. Time for a stir.
Coopers bitter kit. 6 days on, 1012. Is this normal?

Leave it longer to 10 days, that seems to be the approved time around here, things should improve and clear better....

Excellent!
Gives me more time to obtain empty bottles too.
Cheers.

My Coopers Bitter dropped to 1012 after a week, and stayed there, so I barrelled it with 80 grams priming sugar. 2 weeks later it was clear and nice, had enough alcohol for me in it.

I bottled it at 1010, 9 days in.
I've just 'tried' a small bottle, and it's OK, but tastes a little bit odd. Beery, but slightly tart. Would I be right in thinking it's just a bit young, and needs to sit in the bottles for a little bit longer? (Only been in the bottles for 3 - 4 days, it's hey, Friday night)

My grandad used to brew many moons ago, he always said he left his beer brewing for 'Two Sabbaths' and Ive long been a fan of the '10 day rule'
