you often get odd smells coming from the fv, it is perfectly normal, I've had the sulphury egg smell from cider fermenting, better it comes out now rather than later in your glass..eh!

I've just finished brewing a brupaks lager and after the 3rd day it had a strong sulphur / eggy smell with a vinegary finish. A few days later it was back to smelling like lager. After 9 days and I've taken a sample to test the FG and it tasted fine. As already stated, don't worry too much about the weird smells from the FV. I think most of my brews so far have ponged a bit somewhere along the line and all have turned out well.

I've just kegged my first kit, a Coopers Brewmaster IPA, that had a very eggy/sulphury smell to it after a couple of days fermentation. Being my first attempt at brewing I was starting to worry a wee bit but I'm having a sneaky pint of it now and it has turned out just fine - looking forward to seeing how it develops over the next few weeks! (if it lasts that long... )
