In a world where big companies very quickly deprive you of your hard earned and then turn a deaf ear when something goes amiss It rekindles my faith in mankind when Norman the cornie mans customer after care kicks in.
Having purchased my second pair of cornies(must never be bought singley as its cruel) I found one to have a leaky post
Some photographs and email correspondence with Norman Promptly found me with delivery of an envelope toute sweet!
with the offending seals.
WELL DONE NORMAN

Yep norm is the corny king and one of the most genuine people you could talk with.
Re: Norman CUSTOMER CARE SECOND TO NONE
I've had many kegs off Norm and not a problem. I've had one off Greene and frankly I'd never go back to him. The kegs off Norm have all been good, they've all come well packaged in boxes and delivered via UPS. They have also been as advertised so I knew exactly what I was getting.
Greene on the other hand showed a perfectly good picture of a ball-lock cornie but what I got was not what the picture showed. Yes, I got a ball-lock cornie but the posts were set further in than normal kegs, the lid is so ridicuosly tight to close that something's going to snap and most importantly, it's shorter but fatter than the rest of my collection and just looks odd.
Now to be fair, it may well work just fine but it's not as advertised and the ultra-tight lid is just wrong. Furthermore, Norm sends his packed in boxes, this one from Greene had a layer of shrink-wrap covering 3/4 of it. no protection whatsoever and it was delivered via the Royal Mail as opposed to UPS with Norm's stuff.
If you're watching Greene (as I suspect you or someone you know is) take a leaf out of Norms book, you do at least get what you pay for. Yes, I could have sent it back and complained, the fact that it got here via the Royal Mail without added dents is a miracle but I certainly didn't get what was advertised on the ebay listing and I won't be back for more.
I'd rather pay a premium and get exactly what I am paying for.

I had a "not as described" cornie from ebay seller "green5542" too. I would not buy from him again.
In contrast, Norm has happily exchanged an entire lid+seal and supplied a replacement poppet, all free of charge and promptly.

Has Norm's postage gone up? It's now £10 which is odd as it costs £6.99 to send up at least three kegs with UPS.

That's the fella yes. I think what we received were 'NC Jolly' kegs. I've not tried mine yet, indeed it's hidden away in a cupboard and will be used only when I run out of Norm kegs to fill as the tightness of the lid needs Superman to lock it and I have little confidence in something not going wrong with it.boingy wrote:I had a "not as described" cornie from ebay seller "green5542" too. I would rather have paid a £10 premium and got a known good keg (and that included disconnects) that was as advertised and had known good customer service than taken the gamble on this chancer and ended up with something that was completely different to what he pictured in the ad with hindsight.
There is a thread elsewhere where someone offered to have kegs picked up off him at a much lower rate than Greene was offering for the shipping and Greene refused to remove the postage costs and allow the courier. That alone tells a story. Avoid at all costs is my personal view.
