brewers choice instructions

Post by gaztop » Mon Apr 27, 2009 6:04 pm

Hi All,

Ready to start my second brew.
After chatting to a couple of posters on this forum I have decided to go for a brewer's choice kit.
The only other kit I have done was a woodfordes, which came with 2 tins and a packet of yeast.

Does the Brewer's choice kits come with 2 tins?
I've been googling for instructions or contents but can't find any other info apart from the differnet amounts of sugar you can add.

Are all beer kits roughly the same?

A Brewer's Choice kit is supplied with about 2kg of dry spray malt. It also has a couple of 'teabags' containing various grains and hops. You select the second choice, which can be either sugar, more spray malt or a tin of liquid extract. Spray malt is recommended to try and eliminate the 'twang' associated with stale liquid extract.

here's the instructions...

Hi,

I have also just purshased a 80 shilling brewers choice.

It recommends on my instructons to use amber dried spray malt. I have enough dark spray malt left over and was wondering it would be fine to use up stock or would it effect the taste of brew?

Also the instruction say that you should siphon into another vessel after 5 to 7 days. Is this necessary?
