Still fermenting?
Still fermenting?
My latest Wherry has now been fermenting for 8 days and is currently at 1.014 but the airlock is currently bubbling every 3 or 4 seconds - it had slowed a bit but now speeding up! It is my 6th Woodfordes. My Wherrys have always got to 1.012 so I know it might still have a little bit more to go but they have normally slowed to less than one bubble per minute by now. Is there any way to know if it is really still fermenting or is it just co2 coming out of suspension? It will be the warmest fermentation I have done and I know the temperature is rising (not more than 20 C though) which might be causing the co2 to escape. I wanted to barrel today but not sure now??? There is maybe 95% coverage of bubbles on top the beer if this means anything?
Re: Still fermenting?
If it's going into a barrel I wouldn't worry, because it will finish off there if it wants to.
