Kit Yeast

Is it generally advisable to swap the kit yeast for a more recognised brand or strain?

I ask because I am thinking of doing a coopers pale ale for my next brew and was wondering if i should pick up a sachet of US-05 to ferment with, as I will be ordering some DME anyway?

I fermented my last beer Coopers Wheat Beer with W-06 and used 1kg of Wheat DME for the sugars and it turned out fantastic

Well personally I would say why. All the Coopers kits I have done have been fine with the supplied yeasts all finished between 1006-10.

The Coopers kit yeast is considered very good, so I wouldn't bother, all mine have been fine. It's the Woodforde/Muntons kits that I would advise swapping yeast for S04. Cheers.

Id stick with the coopers yeast. All the coopers kits ive made have gone by the book. The old addage really "If it aint broke dont fix it."
