Coopers Wheat Beer Yeast

Post by BeerMan » Sun Jun 07, 2009 10:03 am

Hi All,

Im in the middle of brewing the Cooper Wheat beer and its seems to have stopped at about 1015 #-o (recomended is 1006), way to high to risk bottling! I used the supplied yeast + 500g of light DME and 300g of sugar.
I was reading the posts about restarting kits but all I have to hand is Muntons Premium Gold Yeast, any ideas if it would be ok to use or do I need a special Wheat yeast?

Cheers

You could give the yeast a rouse with a Sanitised brewers paddle, that might help, a 1/2 teaspoon of Yeast Nutrient might also help (dissolve it in a little boiled/Cooled water first) :)
