My favourite at that time was his own recipe beer called "Reverend's Ring Piece". Don't ask me why the name or for the recipe, you will have to chase my mate Jubby for that info. All I know is that its aroma hops were the "Styrian Goldings" and I have been meaning to do something with this hop for sometime now,but have never had a recipe that fitted. That is until now...

So I have the hops ,now all I need to do is to decide what kind of brew to do with them. As I have been alternating between light summer ales and dark porters and milds I decided maybe it was time to do something in the middle so a amber coloured bitter it is going to be. I searched the forums and came across the Styrian Stunner and a few others as well as the Timothy Taylor Landlord. Now none of these were quite right for me so I decided to do my own take on the TTL which I have had a few times in the local pubs. A good honest pint I guess with some good complexity. I guess it easier to do something similar and not a clone of a beer because in this way what turns out as a bloody good brew, may well let you down because it does not taste the same as the brew you are trying to mimick. The JHB I have enjoyed over the summer is a real case in point. Sometimes it bloody lovely and other times it disappoints as the aroma and heady hop flavours are not as prominent. So to avoid disappointment I came up with my version of a Styrian hopped ale. "Catfish Brewery Landlord"

I'm a little late adding the recipe on the board and so this has already been brewed and is therefore in the FV already and smelling gorgeous by the way. I will update on this one once its in the bottles. I have on this occasion not taken any brew day pictures but do have a full log of the actual brew and I am happy to report the brew day, inc Fly Sparge and boil went without a hitch.
Cheers for now
