Hot water supply for use as brewing liquor

(That's water to the rest of us!) Beer is about 95% water, so if you want to discuss water treatment, filtering etc this is the place to do it!

Hot water supply for use as brewing liquor

I've a question whether it is advisable or not to use household heated water for brewing to cut down the time it would take to get it to temp in the HLT?

Also, if it is acceptable, would it still be worth routing the water through a point of use water filter? Plumber is in next month and I can get this done in prep for going AG even if that won't be happening until next year. Cheers for any views/advice.

Thanks Chris - I've a tank system I'm afraid so no big deal, I'll just get my plumber to run a cold feed to where I intend to have my HLT.
