Anybody got any info on this beer, i had a pint last night and it was very interesting.
Website says kiwi fruit flavours, and you definitely get that, so i imagine there are Nelson Sauvin hops in there somewhere? Never used those, however, so i only say that based on what i have read. Anyone used them? What do you think of them etc?

Re: Oakham Ales: Akhenaten
We always seem to be on the same wavelength as far as beer recipes go
I haven't tried this beer, but i am sure i would like it. Looking for some Nelson Sauvin myself at the moment, they sound interesting. I will be knocking up another Evil Twin, then Reverend's Ringpiece, then something with Nelson in it, so i will be watching this thread.

Re: Oakham Ales: Akhenaten
Jubby, I can't be there Friday, but if you are going to the Kingston, that is where i had it! I reckon there is Nelson in it, cos it reminded me of Adnams Innovation - another brew i tried recently that definitely has them in. More a "BrewDog" kind of profile to that one though, strong and bitter with plenty of residual sweetness. There is a citrus side to Akhenaten, suggests there is at least one other hop in there.
I also made another Evil Twin that i plan to bottle early next week, i used some CaraRed i had in place of the Victory on this one. Did you use biscuit, as you were planning? I brewed another JHB the same day as well. Had all sorts of problems with that brew (stuck mash, boiler failed, and hops blocked the tap from the replacement boiler run-off
) but it smells good
I'll have to post up my tweaked recipe.

Re: Oakham Ales: Akhenaten
I am not sure if i can make it Friday. Working late and then starting at 6.30am Saturday
I might drive in for a pint and say hi. I wouldn't mind trying that Akhenaten.
Evil Twin is on the cards for next week and I will be using Biscuit in place of the Victory this time. I will also use the last of my WLP023 instead of the 05.
Looks like you had some fun with the JHB
I am sure it will turn out well though.
Looking forward to the great White Shield tasting before xmas.
