dead space

a quick question.
theres 3 litres of water in the boiler dead space after i drain it. do i keep this in for the boil or should i tip it out first?

if you're doing extract, then count it in the volume of water used to make it up; if doing AG, get rid of it first.

too late now. got the boil on but i marked the spot for 3 litres too much so ill boil it down to that before i stick the hops in.

you'll lose three litres easily over a 90 minute boil anyway
