Quaffing summer ale
Quaffing summer ale
Once I get the pub shed up and running in the spring I want to put a quaffing summer ale through my boddies pump .(Try to convert dodgy carling drinkers). Ive been looking at kits like laithwaite light, great Eastern, coopers pale ale etc. Anyone recommend a session summer ale kit.

Hi,
I can reccomend Coopers Australian Pale Ale.
I made it with 1kg BKE Bottled with 8g/l sugar as a primer and left it for 4 weeks before drinking and it was superb!
Nicely balanced (hopiness/maltyness) clean & crisp, lightly sparkling and about 4.3-4.5% abv
I'd like to try the Laithwaite Light also.... Let me know how it was if you do try it!

Slainte!

I've just done the Burton Bridge summer ale kit and would recommend it. Try also Geordie Scottish Export, which is a light coloured easy drinking ale. Both of these mature in a bottle fairly quickly.

Brupaks Brewer's Choice Best Bitter (option 1 or 1½ - either a kilo of brewing sugar or ½ kilo light spray malt with ½ kilo brewing sugar) - will be light on body, not much of a malty flavour and colour but retain a good 'fruity' hop aroma - well option 1½ did for me; the neighbour (lager drinker) liked it and described it as fruity/flowery in aroma. A good 'session' ale.
