Totally Gutted !

Hi Guys,

I'm watching the box and having a quiet pint of my own homebrew . . . . .
. . . . so what's wrong with this picture ?

I've only got one more pint left and (no kidding) its absolutely delicious  - But thats not the problem, the reason I've only got a pint left is because I found a 2 litre Pet bottle in the fridge of a batch that I had tipped out because it tasted foul :bonk

A lesson the hard way I think - note to self - "Must be more patient"

'scuse me while I sob quietly in the corner.

Cheers,

Griff

I forgot to mention that this particular brew was made up from an old lager kit that was out of date. I added another cheap lager kit, some left over brew enhancer and golden syrup. I used a packet of Safelager yeast.

The fermentation went well, but when I racked it off into the secondary it was a tad too brown and didnt smell or taste quite right. I thought it might have become oxidised ?

Anyhow for reasons lost in the fog of time I filled a 2ltr PET bottle at the same time. . . . . and then move forward to last month when I needed the fermenter to start my Nut Brown ale off so down the drain went the lot as I had written it off as a failure.

Until last night when out of desparation I found the bottle and had a slurp - what a complete transformation. Hey Ho, as I said earlier, it's all part of the learning process.

Cheers,

Griff
