RIMsing at the start of the mash, somewhat murky

The hysteresis and thermal inertial of the "Jam Maker" is about 2.5C, so I had to add a PID:

RIMsing near the end of mash, much clearer:

Add first sparge, 5l. Because it is going to be stirred, you can just pour it in:

Increase mash tun to 77C for mashout:

Starting wort from first sparge:

Second sparge water addition:

Adding second sparge to boiler:

During re-circulation cooling. This took nearly 45 minutes as the ground water is 21C:

After a 60 minute wait at 25C, first runnings to FV

The OG is somewhat high, I had to add nearly 5l to get it back to 1.046:

But the wort is very clear, and most of the trub and break is left in the boiler, not exactly a "cone" but it seems to work quite well.

Things to iron out:
There is a temperature variation within the mash tun. As you would expect, about 1-1.5C less at the sides. This will be improved with some Armaflex. For this run it did not matter as I gave the mash a stir every so often.
Pumping the mash tun into the boiler is far too fast, it leaves 2-3l of wort in the wet spent grist, but it is easy to gravity drain this out into a jug and then add it to the boiler.
The hop filters are a bit too small, after re-circulating for 45 minutes, they are somewhat blocked and boiler draining needs to be pumped.
