Brooklyn Brown Ale (Request & possible Recipe)

Post by lyonsy81 » Wed Mar 16, 2011 10:44 pm

Gotta love this beer, im lucky to get it sometimes in Belfast but its not cheap £2.04 for a 350ml bottle, ive checked out their website and it says;

Pale Malt
Belgian Aromatic Malt (which you can substitute for melanoiden as far as i know)
American Roasted Malts (Which i guess could be anything from chocolate to black malt to carafa)

I was thinking of going with;

Pale Malt 4 Kg
Melanoiden 250g
Chocolate 200g
Carafa 200g

Fuggles 40g for 90 mins
Cascade 20g for 15 mins
Williamette 20 for 10 mins

I know its a total shot in the dark but i'd be interested in hearing some opinions im gonna give this brew a go pretty soon, any help would be appreciated

there was some discussion here but I don't think it went anywhere.

I have at least tried a bottle now, but I don't think that has helped me know what is in it at all. If I'm honest I wasn't that mad on it, OK but nothing like as impressive as the black. I got a bit of liquorice and another strong taste I couldn't really identify. You are two grains short according to the description I lifted from their site :wink: , there might be some amber malt in there now I think about it.
