Rehydrating yeast - Youngs bitter kit.

Right.

Im about to start another brew, using the good old youngs bitter kit again.

I've been reading about, and read that rehydrating the yeast can produce better results.

Is this something that would help with this sort of kit ? Or am I barking up the wrong tree !? :D

thanking you.

With most dry yeast you shouldn't need to rehydrate, just pitch. If the yeast instructions specifically ask you to then it's probably best to...

I've only ever done this with Nottingham but didn't really notice any difference between fermentation rates.

Okey dokey..thanks.

Also, I used a malt enhancer with my last youngs bitter kit, this produced a beer with a very strong aftertaste that took some getting used to.

If I just use brewing sugar, will it taste a little mellower ?

:)
