hi everyone.
im kinda new around here (and to brewing) been hanging around for a short while reading up a few things too.

so basically i want to do another brew.

my first brew was a coopers "Real Ale" kit which i made with 1kg brewing sugar (next time i use DME) i left it in primary for about 3 weeks then racked to secondary for 3 weeks (no sediment and its still in secondary which also has a tap in it so out of about 23L i now have 12L due to family drinking it  ) its total age is now about 6 - 7 weeks old and tastes alot better but minus some of that slight sweet honey flavor i like (see, hob goblin, cobra, tiger, kingfisher) and also tastes thin as hell.

so moving on, for some fun i used 8kg brewing sugar with some alcotec 48 pure turbo yeast and made about 20% booze which should be ok teastes drinkable anyway.

and moving on some more i now want to make a decent brew again that i can lock away for christmas or something (discovered the coopers kit tasted crap till it aged to atleast 6 weeks).

im interested in making a few clones using kits or anything that takes no additional equipment (i have the basic stuff, fermenting tanks and such)
also getting a corni with tap delivered tomorrow with a bit of luck.

the stuff im interested in making would be something like guinness, fosters, carlsberg, hob goblin kind of stuff, i like the sweet tasting beers and not a fan of stuff like carling (bitter, tastes like water from the thames-river) iv had a look at a few kits too thats supposed to be good but dont want to go randomly making stuff and it turning out rank and undrinkable, so any suggestions on what to brew will be very welcome.

Brupaks kits are very good and are well rated here.
Coopers kits made with LME or DME are considered great by members, although I have done none myself

Oh and DaaBs site is great for method advice:

I'd much rather drink thames water than Carling :)

I would agree with the comments on Brewers Choice kits - I did the German Pils with 50/50 glucose and DME - 6 weeks in the bottle and it tastes excellent.

thanks for all the replys, does anyone know a good website to buy brewing stuff from? as i dont have a brew shop near me (that i know of) mainly looking for cheap stuff but would also pay a little more if its guaranteed to be delivered (recently had problems with a site using parcelforce and parcelforce screwing things up)
thanks.
