Stonch

Haven't tried the kit, but the commercial beer of the same name is very good.

You may have to be extra careful about the fermentation sticking before it is complete, this being a Muntons kit. Aerate the wort well before pitching, whack in some yeast vit ... be ready!

Brewed it back last year and really enjoyed, so much so I've just bottled some up - only 4 weeks until tasting!!

I'd go along with Stonch and make sure the wort's well aerated and add 1/2 tsp of Bru-paks Yeast-Vit as mine did seem to finish very quickly but was at 1012 when I bottled it so fingers cross. Though the two pints I couldn't bottle did taste pretty good even without the condition.

That was my first kit brew, and I thought it was fantastic. Goes extremely well with a strong chedder.

I've got a a little bit left in my barrel! It's blooming delicious. Only thing you wanna watch however, is - like the others have identified - the FG was about 1012 or 1014 meaning it probably wasn't as strong as it should have been (couldn't tell when drinking though) so if I made it again I'd probably aim to make 35 rather than 40 pints out of it :D

The commercial version is great on a wet and windy day when you find yourself accidentally stranded in a pub on the Norfolk broads.

It hurts the next day however...
