Thornbridge black ipa

Tried the thornbridge bipa the other day. Loved it! Anyone got any pointers on how they got that lovely pineapple hop flavour? Anyone know what the hop mix is?

Here's the ingredients, can't help with quantities and timings though.

Hops: Nelson Sauvin, Centennial, Sorachi Ace, Chinook and Amarillo
Malts: Maris Otter, Munich, Black Patent and Chocolate

Cheers, that's quite the hop list. I'm surprised about the chic and patient as I didn't think it was that roasty

Are you sure you got pineapple, because Chinook gives you grapefruit, might be the combination of Chinook & Amarillo that does it?

It is a hefty line up of hops. Their website actually states it's got 6 hops and 5 malts but they only list 5 and 4 respectively.

Would love to brew something like this too but still have a mass of other hops to use up before buying a load more!

Me and my mate had just finished brewing bioa and sat down to share a bottle of thus. We both said at the same time, with confused looks on our faces, pinapple. Next question was, what hop gives pineapple? I presumed it was a mix but hadn't gambles on chinook and Amarillo. I had thought mosaic maybe in there but...

I confess I'm guessing, the orange of amarillo and grapefruit of Chinook might give this, the test would be to combine some in a cup and pour boiling water on them and see what happens. If it is close then it's just a case of adjusting quantities to hit the mark.

I have frequently found pineapple in my beers containing mixtures of cascade/ amarillo/ Nelson sauvin.
However, I find that the pineapple disappears very quickly though - after 3/4 weeks it's gone. Maybe you had a young beer ?
