Kitchen or Garage?

Post by Kp2 » Thu Apr 17, 2014 2:52 pm

It been a while since I've posted, but I thought I would share my storie with you all.
It was back in 2011 and I had been kicked out of the kichen. It's not as bad as it sounds / looks.

I, (the wife or shorten to "we"), had been meaning to rebuild the kitchen for some time.

It was only durring one of those light harted chats that I relised that I wasn't the bose  . It went I bit like this:

Me: And the 16 amp power line are going here for the brewery.
Wife: No NEED to worry about that.
Me: What do you mean? No NEED to worry. I NEED the power to make beer and I NEED beer.
Wife: No room.
Me: But the beer line will run along here. With a counter top tap. I just NEED to sort out the chiller.
Wife: I don't think you understand.

Well I didn't win that "chat", next time I thought. So I endded up in the garage agian. And may I add, it's not the first time. It's a bit like "the dog house" but bigger. While I was there I made this.

A standard 50L Kettel and Mash tun. Just one word of advice. Make sure you finsh building the kitchen before the brewery  . Kp2

What you need is a wife who keeps horses.

Whatever I want to do, however extravagant/ridiculous/time consuming/expensive it may be, it will always be SO SO SO much less significant than her horses. I can never loose on that score.

The downside is, it is like having a second mortgage for a house you will (a)never own and in my case (as I am not in the slightest bit interested in horses) (b)will never want to be any part of.
That's why I rely on HomeBrew to ease my troubled mind.... 8)

Yes, and there were a few other extra bits in there as well.

You just need a pair of image tags with the url of the picture file (e.g. a jpg or gif) in between them like this -

Code: Select all

Ah, Tapatalk mustn't show stuff between '

Code: Select all

' tags. That's the only way I can write it out though, otherwise the software will try to make an image out of it.

I _think_ I've already squared it with my good lady that if/when we build our house there'll be adequate brewery space. Time will tell but I think just not having the beery smells coming in through the kitchen door will swing it.

By the way, where did you get the plastic case for your temp controller? Very nice, I'm looking for something similar to house this bad boy... http://www.instrumart.com/products/2710 ... controller of which I got to grab two from the bin at work.

I think I was RS (can't find the info). It's Steel and Ali material. Note it's not water tight, but has good for air flow.
That's a very nice controller. And that is where it starts, when you see what others are using. I feel the need to up-grade now.
I also sourced a fair amount of meterial for work (including a big kitchen sink). I tell them that it's better than dumping in a land fill sites. And I don't charge to take away.
