September 23rd 2007 11.00am to 5.00pm Salisbury Market Square.
Salisbury Fine Food Festival
After the sucess of last year's event we have once again been asked to run the beer and cider tent for the Food Festival. The following products will be available:
* Stonehenge bitter (to be arranged)
* Hidden bitter (to be arranged)
* Keystone bitter (to be arranged, Alasdair the brewer will attend)
* Wessex bitter (to be arranged)
* Cider by Rosie (confirmed)
* Wilkins Cider (confirmed)
* Lambourn cider and perry (confirmed with Roy Bailey in attendance)
* Red and white wine by the glass
* Bottled lager
* Soft drinks and bar snacks
We run a token system for the bar, tokens can be purchased on the day for £1.20 each or 10 tokens for £11.00. A glass of wine or pint of beer or cider or bottle of lager will cost 2 tokens. Soft drinks and snacks are paid for with cash.
(shamelessly stolen the blurb from http://www.abbeystores.co.uk/ who are incidentally stock and giving two free beer tokens for this event if you register for their newsletter)
Not the cheapest but it's normally a good craic.
Salisbury Food & Drink Festival
Twas a good'un.
Phil "Time Team" Harding was out for a sesh and although the beer tent ran out of beer at about 14:00, Charles from Abbey Stores saved the with loads of bottled beers including Triple FFF's range and Ringwood's bottled range as well including Huffkin, Old Thumper and Best.
Came away from it with 14-odd brown pint bottles and got promptly dragged into the local Slug and Lettuce which luckily served Deuchars IPA and from there to the Deacon's Arms which had its usual Doombar on at £2 per pint.
In hindsight the Yellowleg cider was a very bad move but the ruby I had for tea sorted me out a treat, that and two hours kip on the sofa...

Good one today:
Keystone Summer Solstice
Keystone Porter
Keystone Large One
Pigswill
Warminster Warrior
Russian Stoat
Four others but I foget the names. The weather was beautiful and I caught the sun a bit, ended up in the Slug and Lettuce after drinking strawberry beer, very nice.
Plus I saw Phil Harding.
