BIAB #12 Best bitter

Post by martindisorder » Tue Aug 11, 2015 8:20 am

Not posted a brewday on this forum before so i thought I'd share todays with you lovely folks.
I spent a day in a comercial brewery last Friday and have been inspired to brew a English Best Bitter. Now most of my beers i make as US style hop monsters so its a strange one for me to use so few hops in a brew. That said i still think im using more than are really necessary.

Recipe

Malt Bill:

4kg pale malt
300g crystal 60
100g chocolate
250g wheat

Hop Bill:

20g Challenger @ 90min

20g Challenger @ 30min

20g EKG @ 10min

25g EKG @ 5min

10g Challenger @ 5min

Single step infusion @68c for 70min
Mash out @ 74c for 10min
Aiming for 23l @ 4.4%abv so will be liquoring back due to my kit size limitations.

Here is a shot just after i had doughed in
