Cleaning sterilising plate chiller ! Came up with this

Hi all, I recently started using my new plate chiller from Mr Lard and after reading a few posts here about different ways of cleaning & sterilising a plate chiller I decided to have a go at fashioning a cleaning system using my Solar Pump. I have been running the hot water from cooling my wort through the plate chiller to clean out any hops & trub caught in the plate chiller. So I decided that I needed a vessel to hold the steriliser or boiling water which will prime my solar pump and then recirculate through my plate chiller and back to the vessel holding the liquid.

So I came up with this which I can use to run 2 kettles full of boiling water through to shift any left over wort, or Videne solution to sterilise the plate chiller

I do the same thing but use my under back as the vessel, have found it works a treat left to its own devices for half an hour while I clean the boiler out .

Yeah it's a lot less water & hassle to just set this up and boil the kettle twice & set it away for 10 mins

You might want to think about reversing the flow too, might dislodge some extra gunk.
