Never thought of reptile heating / cooling. Having just made temp controller using stc 1000 wish i`d seen these 1st. They look quite good for £20.

Very nice! And 1100W should suffice for all but the biggest of fridge/freezer coolant bits.

not as versatile as an stc1000 (ver1.0)

But a lot easier to get up and running if its a plug in solution your after..

will 1100w be enough to kick a fridge compressor into action?
its less than 5a with 240V if the google lookup returned the right info.. (1100/240)

Didn`t see that lowest temp ciderhead. looks like this would suit fermentation( ales) but not cold crash. Personally i enjoyed putting my stc together and works a treat, cost me about the same as well. oh well the search for more cheap gadgets goes on.

It's a shame as that 16 degree minimum is likely to be completely arbitrary - they just thought about reptiles when they did it.

No good for fermenting lager but cold crashing not an issue as you just plug the fridge directly into the mains.

It might be worth contacting the manufacturers to see if they can modify the software, it would open up another market for them.

As a fridge - no problem. Mine's a chest freezer, so it I need to be able to set low (but not too low!) temps for crash chilling.

Inkbird ITC308 might helps, temperature control range -50 ~ 99 ° C / -58 ~ 210 ° F

It arrived quick and as advertised it's only down to 16 which will be fine for my kingspan redneck ale fermentation chamber

I have one of these. It has 10 amp relays fitted which means 2.4kw is the max load. However the cable is only 0.75mm meaning a max load of around 1.4kw. If you were handy you could probably modify this to shift its range, e.g. from 16-40 to 6-30 tho there are probably cleaner ways to do it.
