I have 3 x cornies with the caskwidge float mod, i ebayed 3 x gas dip tubes and exchanged them for the long product dip tubes, the caskwidgered floats are sold with the ideal length of silicone tube, its an expensive way to buy silicone but theirs is formed with a ridge pattern to i think allow more flexibility by cutting down the total thickness ??
the gotcha is that the floats will not always float up with beer when filled, some keg shaking can sort this but the simple soultion is to attach the float and then pull it out of the lid hole and sit in a bowl of sanitiser while you fill and drop it in to float when full..
yes they work in that you can pull a green pint clearer earlier and you dont loose 1/2 a pint to keg deposits on the initial pour, the float will wedge in the bottom when empty leaving a little more residue at the end so you still have that 1/2 pint waste just at the end of the keg not the start
in practice i tend to leave kegs to mature long enough for the benefits to be negligable so have not modded any other kegs,
ist update for months n months..
