Buffalo Induction Hob + 50 Litre Pot
I know this question has been asked before but al I can find is conflicting reports on wether the 50 litre Bergland pots will work on the 3kw Buffalo Induction Hob CE208. I have read about the magnet test but one brewer tested with one and it never stuck but the pot boiled on the hob, others say they dont work. Can anybody who has this combination confirm that the 50 litre Bergland Pot works or not.

Have you tried a magnet on your pots? If a magnet sticks, then they will definitely be suitable for use with an induction hob.

Like I said in my first post, one brewer tried a fridge magnet and it would not stick but the pot still boiled but others say they dont.BrannigansLove wrote:Have you tried a magnet on your pots? If a magnet sticks, then they will definitely be suitable for use with an induction hob.

I can confirm that my Bergland pot (50 litre) works fine on the Buafflo induction hob, see here: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=75719 (purchased the pot from brew builder) - magnet test doesn’t work on these pots…
If you are moving away from a gas hob or electric elements, you might have to adjust your boil off. I find that the boil isn’t as vigorous using induction.
For comparison: I purchased a SS Brewtech pot last month, hoping the boil would be bigger. But it’s made no difference and it reaches a similar sort of rolling boil that the Bergland pot use too.
