Are there any alternatives that are available in the UK? (judging by what I've heard, I don't want to suffer the ball-ache of ordering from Brewer's Discount)

Keg lube is just petrolium jelly...isn't it :blink:

Already got some KY in the house BB, I get you, nudge nudge wink wink :lol:

Strictly speaking, vaseline is not ideal as it is neither odourless or tasteless (and I'm not sure if it is classed 'food grade'), but I've always used it.
Not sure about KY!
Andy, is the keg lube you have from the US a petroleum product or silicone?

I always use vaseline on my O ring (oo-er mrs!).

I wouldn't use KY as it does dry out!
I use it on my Dry suit wrist and neck seals but only to help put it on i don't leave it on as it globs up a bit and starts to dry out!

I once walked into a chemist and asked for a tube of KY before a big trip and then when they handed over a tube, I took one look at it and said haven't you got anything bigger that won't last the weekend let alone the week :o The assistant couldn't talk for 10mins :lol: :lol:

I use teflon grease as its food grade (And its the only grease i have!)

After she had carmed down a bit and i realised what i had said, i did try and explain what i used it for.
