Thornbridge Colorado Red clone

Evening,

I’ve just had a bottle of Colorado Red from Thornbridge and it’s fantastic! Has anyone tried to clone it? I’ve emailed the brewery in hope of a recipe or a hint of one.

I had found that after posting. Any hints with the IBU etc or hops?

Not a beer I've had, but their website says:

HOPS
Centennial, Nugget, Bullion, Admiral, Ernest, Fuggles, Citra

No info about IBUs or when the hops might be added, mind you.

It also says, "...flavours of dry fruit, candied peel and fragrant citrus hops."

So with those hops, you're probably looking at Citra as a whirlpool and/or dry hop, but it's a mighty collection of hops and without further clues it'll be quite a bit of experimentation to get close.

If you do get further clues, do post.

I might even see if I can find a bottle to try.

I'm not too optimistic, but asking never hurts: One of my absolute favourites is O'Hara's Irish Red. Have any of you a good idea about the recipe?

O'Hara's pretty tight-lipped, and I've never come any closer than what they let out about it on their site. Only thing I've heard outside of that is that they're using Nottingham, which I'm no big fan of.

I've never heard of it before, but their website gives a good few ideas about both the grist and the hops.

You might have better luck contacting some of the top people in http://nationalhomebrewclub.ie/ Carlow Brewing Company has always been a strong supporter of the Irish NHC, and while there may not be much in the way of publishing recipes, you might get something close to the horses mouth of the actual malt bill. There is not too many ways you can do an Irish red anyway.

You might have a bit of luck asking questions on DM with https://twitter.com/homebrewclubirl?lang=en which is a managed twitter account and pretty responsive I think.
