Parsnip wine

Post by Curious Brew » Sun Nov 25, 2007 8:18 pm

Went over the in-law's today to discover the bro-in-law has made some parsnip wine, not sure where he got the recipe from though.

4lb Parsnips
3lb Sugar
Water to 1 gallon
Bread yeast

When I asked him how he sanitised he said "I thought you'd washed it out already". Yeah, but that was about six weeks ago!

IMO There is only 1 thing for 'nips'

Quarter lengthwise, par boil for just 2 or 3 mins then drop them into very hot duck fat, drizzle with a good strong tasting honey whack them back in the oven then drizzle with a bit more honey just as you serve.

I'm going to have a bash at them with Parmesan tho DaaB !

i'm planning to leave it til Christmas. My missus just reminded me (after I've labelled it all up as Parsnip wine) that it is actually turnip wine!
